New Delhi, April 20: At an extravaganza event organized at the Japan foundation by Hirohama India, UP lass Aakansha Srivastava crowned as the Miss Sake India 2025.
Her vision to promote the sake in India won her the title by beating as many as five potential contestants.
Now, Aakansha will be the Goodwill Cultural Ambassador for the sake, the traditional rice beverage of Japan, in India. Aakansha Srivastava who hails from UP’s Lucknow city presently working in marketing industry. She has five years of expertise in brand-building and promoting. She has a keen interest in Japanese culture that made her to learn the language.
After winning the pageant Aakansha said,” I am very excited to be chosen for the one -year role of spreading the thrill of the Sake”. She urged more people to try the sip of the cultural heritage drink of Japan.
The pageant was graced by distinguished guests including Ono Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India, Koji Sato, Director of Japan Foundation, New Delhi; Kotoko Yamada, Sake Japan 2023; Mika Onishii, Chairman of the Miss Sake Association, Japan; Menakaa Rai, Sake India 2024; and Mika Eoka, renowned Sake sommelier also known as "Sake Mom India."
The event was started by the insightful details about sake, the traditional brew by Kojiro Honda, Co-owner and founder of Hirohama India Pvt. Ltd. And Kuuraku India Pvt. Ltd. ,who elaborated and explained the popularity of the Sake in India.
This was followed by the introduction of five finalists. Previous year’s Miss Sake Japan Kotoko Yamada and Miss Sake India 2024 Menakaa Rai gave a detailed presentation about the Sake, and about the Miss Sake initiatives.
Addressing the wonderful event the ambassador of Japan Ono Keiichi emphasized the versality, flavours and tradition of Sake noting how it can be successfully paired Indian cuisine, showcasing its untapped potential in the India market. He referred to the Sake reception held recently at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi.
At the reception evening the guests were introduced to the different types of Sake, the crafted brew amalgamating it with Indian cuisines.
The finalist had to go through three tough rounds. First the introduction round, then the talent round and finally the question answer by the jury member.
After all the rounds Aakansha Srivastava was crowned as the Miss Sake India 2025 by her predecessor, Menakaa Rai. Sonu Rani and Yengkhom Nganthoi Devi were crowned as the Runners up.
As a winner of Miss Sake India 2025, Aakansha will now promote and engage in promotional activities of the Sake in India throughout the year and she will represent India at the prestigious Miss Sake Japan Final contest to be held on 13th June 2025.
